It is only through the
goodness of God that we are able to comprehend the reason why we exist and the
possibilities for our future. If God hadn't revealed himself to us through the power of
the Holy Spirit, then we would miss the benefits that he offers in this lifetime and the
new life promised in time to come.
The world doesn't want anyone interfering
with their priorities ...they can't handle a higher authority telling them what to do, nor
do they wish to face the valueless reality of their life. Yet, God's word reveals these
truths to the whole human race.
Solomon speaks about the realities of
life.
ECC 8:9 All this have I seen, and
applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: [there is] a time wherein one
man ruleth over another to his own hurt. Man can't resolve his own problems.
10 And so I saw the wicked
buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the
city where they had so done: this [is] also vanity. Everything they stood for was soon
forgotten.
11 Because sentence against an
evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in
them to do evil. Most think they can get away with anything, because there is no
instant judgement from God ...we escaped thisdeception when we received the Holy Spirit.
12 Though a sinner do evil an
hundred times, and his [days] be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with
them that fear God, which fear before him: It is far better to place yourselves in the
hands of the Lord ...and to help each other overcome the world.
13 But it shall not be well
with the wicked, neither shall he prolong [his] days, [which are] as a shadow; because he
feareth not before God. Any life, good or bad, outside of the Lord will never be of any
lasting value. God wants us to live up to his goodness, not the good of the world.
Those who would prevent us promoting
the good things of the Lord, will not get off lightly.
2THE 1:5 ...that ye may be counted
worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
6 Seeing [it is] a righteous thing
with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; God will remove the
troublemakers for you, setting you free from their persecution.
7 And to you who are troubled
rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance
on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: It is
vital for all of us to remain in the safety of God's word.
9 Who shall be punished with
everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
10 When he shall come to be
glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony
among you was believed) in that day. There may be a few problems along the way,
but the blessings of God are more than worth it. The overcomers will always be under
attack until the Lord returns.
God has set us free from our sinful
nature ...we don't need to be held back by the weakness of the flesh.
HEB 6:9 But, beloved, we are
persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
10 For God [is] not unrighteous to
forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have
ministered to the saints, and do minister. God doesn't forget the good that you do, but
he is prepared to forget the bad ...if you deal with it scripturally.
PSA 32:1 <<[A Psalm] of
David, Maschil.>> Blessed [is he whose] transgression [is] forgiven, [whose] sin
[is] covered.
2 Blessed [is] the man unto whom
the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit [there is] no guile. God doesn't
want our mistakes to hinder us in our future with him. That is why he made it possible for
our sins to be cleansed. There is no cleansing outside of the gospel plan. God wants us to
demonstrate his goodness to others ...without compromise.
1JOH 1:5 This then is the
message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is
no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship
with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as
he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his
Son cleanseth us from all sin. We are asked to conform to the gospel lifestyle ...to be
in full fellowship with the things of God. With the sin cleansed, there is no reason for
guilt or fear from God or his word. This can be achieved without making changes to God's
word.
8 If we say that we have no
sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. Many are unable to identify sin,
because they don't know or believe the word of God.
9 If we confess our sins, he is
faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not
sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. By comparing our lives with his
word and conforming to it ...we are more than able to overcome. It is very important that
we admit our mistakes ...that confirms God's word to be true. Our continuous willingness
to learn and grow in wisdom prevents us from straying into false doctrine and the world.
Pray for the goodness of God to work in
the church.
2THE 1:11 Wherefore also we pray
always for you, that our God would count you worthy of [this] calling, and fulfil all the
good pleasure of [his] goodness, and the work of faith with power: God's power,
not man's power.
