NASCO stands for the (National
Automotive Service
Company) up until mid to late 1971 was the
spare parts and accessory division of GMH (General Motors Holden's) parts
were either made by GMH or it's subsidiaries or out sourced for supply to
GMH for on selling.
Typically most Holden dealers were
suppliers of the full NASCO range of products
and accessories although some agents were appointed who were not
necessarily Holden dealers.
Today collectors, enthusiasts, restorers
and of course me, clamber and chase these parts and accessories for our
own cars or collections. For me at least, it's a form of sport! to get
those rare parts and accessories that you have been chasing (in some cases
for years) is a great thrill when you finally break though and get that
special piece. |

So this page is in part a
general look at some of my collection and a little bit on where and how
some of the pieces are found and how you too can get in on the act.

So just what is desirable?
Well anything in good condition is desirable and of course the rarer the
better, things like literature old sales brochures, workshop manuals,
salesman's reference guides or oil cans, polish tins not forgetting the
actual car parts and accessories such as radio's, dress rims, clocks, day night
interior rear view mirrors the list just goes on and on. All the parts
that go together to set your early Holden apart from the rest.
