The
trailer was built from 2 1960-61 FB Holden Station Sedans
The
trailer has many NASCO accessories including Tow Bar, Spats, Locking
petrol
cap, Venetians front and rear! Should that be Rear and Rear?
Radio
Ariel, Thumb
print (Deluxe) dress rims (Wheel embellishers) and "H" emblems
on
the hubcaps !
Built to turn heads and carry
my crap to shows
The
trailer itself was built using 2 FB Station Sedan's, The first was acquired as a
complete car (Unfinished project) All in all not a bad car but was in a million
bits and parts where missing, But it did go! I decided to wreck it out and make
good use of it parts and build a trailer. Hmmm I wonder if I could join 2 rears
together? The answer you see here on this page! It was no easy task and I swore
a lot and lost blood and plenty of cash! Oh well I like the result and it sure
does turn some heads. The second half for the trailer came from a FB Station
Sedan I had seen driving around for years, One day I chased the guy for about 10
klms before I got to ask him if he would sell it to me! His answer was NO! But
said he would give me a ring if he ever change his mined. Around a year later I
get this call saying remember this car?.......Yes I do!...... Well it is now
written off....... I was wondering if you have any interest?
It
had been stolen and bounced over a large roundabout and into a telegraph pole;
the engine was in the front seat such was the impact. So I picked up my second
half! I knew I would get the car one day....... Not quite what I had in mined
originally though!
The
trailer still has the original diff including axles and brakes, petrol tank (Now
water), Tailgates open from both ends (Great for access) and is fully street
registered in New South Wales.
Just
for fun I added an exhaust pipe and a NASCO tow bar (Yes I can connect another
trailer to the trailer) to the rear of the trailer to make it appear a real car
when being followed.
I
must say this was a much bigger project than I first imagined and only people as
silly as me should bother trying.
Here
you see Frank and his trailer out and about not long after the FB-EK National's
in Shepperton Victoria in 1999 this year we were lucky enough to win Top Wagon
for the second time at the nationals, Making it two years in a row! and to say
we were happy about this was an understatement it had been a long haul towing
the trailer and driving from Wollongong N.S.W all with the original grey motor
remembering that trailer weighs almost a ton.
Frank's
trailer was built by myself and these people that I must mention!
Cutting of the two wagons (Smooth), Early welding and where to cut layout (Joe
aka:Leb), Major weld up and "A" frame (Craig aka:Lizard), Body shaping
