-IN MEMORY OF DOE-
Beatrice Rae Wiltshire October 28th 1932 - March 14th 2001
Wednesday 14th March, 2001 was the day that Beatrice Rae Wiltshire, wife of Pastor Max Wiltshire was promoted to Glory!! Beatrice was in Rockhampton for the funeral of her Aunty on the 13th of March 2001. She had the opportunity to catch up with friends and family at that time. She went to bed that night, not knowing or even aware that her promotion to Glory was to come into effect just a number of hours later.
Her funeral service was held at Burdekin Community Church in Ayr North Queensland, (her home Church), and was conducted by Pastor Brian Hennaway the following Monday at 10am. There were many tributes forthcoming by friends and relatives and as her husband of over 20 years commented, "...these were not nice things being said about an evil person".
Beatrice or Wella, Doe and other names as she was known by, was described as a Mother of Israel, Mother in the Faith and an Apostle. Representatives and friends came from as far as Darwin, Batchelor, Sydney, Melbourne, Kimberly's and Wilcannia for the funeral and pay their last respects for this Woman of God. Pastor Kevin Hovey, A.O.G.W.M. Director so aptly put it when he stated, "...that the Music of Heaven, Country Gospel, has a new Song Leader".
We say with the Apostle Paul, "Death where is your sting" (1 Cor 15:55), some of us remember Doe as a legend and we will see her soon.
-Well done good and faithful servant, well done Beatrice-
