Bolivia Mountain Climbing Expedition, July 2000
Possibilities so far... Aconcagua (6,960m), Illimani (6,439m), Illampu (6,362m), Condoriri (5,648m), Pequeno Alpamayo (5,400m)
Hello! My name is Nick. I'm organizing a mountain climbing expedition for July 2000. I intend on climbing in Bolivia. Reasons being, I've climbed there before, there's a long climbing season and it's affordable.
I've considered a number of climbs and Illimami (6,439 m) seems like a good choice, because of it's proximity to La Paz, degree of difficulty and do-ability!
I will be organizing this climb through a proper mountaineering agency with qualified and experienced climb leaders, porters, cooks and reliable transport
This page sums up all of the above mentioned climbs. Keep in mind, these are not final prices. However you pay for everything else, a return flight from Melbourne to La Paz is under $A2,000. There are a number of other possibilities in Bolivia, to get a better idea look here.
Equipment will be provided by the climbing company.
A group between 2 to 4 people is ideal.
Previous mountaineering or rock climbing experience is strongly recommended.
The climb will happen between 10/7/00 and 10/8/00.
