Mindura Jack Russells

Deciding to get a new puppy can be a very exciting time for the whole family and the pup you eventually select will make a very big impact on your life.

Before you choose a pup you should have sufficiently researched the breed of your choice to ensure that it best fits into your lifestyle and the characteristics you require in a pet.

The decision to purchase a pup should not be undertaken lightly, as it is generally a lifelong commitment for the life of the dog. A decision made in haste can sometimes cause unnecessary heartache, due to insufficient research and the wrong choice is made.

So be very sure that the pup of your choice is the right one for you and your family, before committing yourself to the lifelong care of a pup.

Regardless of which breed you choose to share your life with always remember from the time you take your pup home, his life will be spent under your care and guidance. Your life will change though the years, for better or worse, however your dog will still depend on you and still love you.

The Up Side of Owning a Jack Russell
The Down Side of Owning a Jack Russell

The Jack Russell Terrier is an intelligent, independent dog with a wicked sense of humour. They are extremely loyal and fearless companions, and make excellent watchdogs, (not guard dogs).

Jack Russell Terriers can make fun-loving friends for children and will keep them entertained for hours with their clownish antics.

They can be trained for a variety of different activities, such as agility, showing, or simply as a pet. The Jack Russell Terrier is content to remain either inside or out, so long as he is given sufficient amount of exercise, such as playing ball and going for walks.

The Jack Russell was bred to hunt, it will seek out it's own fun if left to its own devices, whether its chasing rabbits on the next door neighbours property or just generally causing mischief.

The Jack Russell Terrier is a known jumper, and climber; so good fencing is a must, to ensure he doesn't wander.

Jack Russell Terriers can sometimes quarrel with other terriers, however two Jack Russells of the opposite sex will generally get along just fine.
