A List of Goals

Change your goals, change your bank balance, income, personality,

We are all effected by

  1. Environment
  2. Events
  3. Knowledge
  4. Results
  5. Our view of the future - our dreams

Make sure the greatest pull on you is the pull of the future

Your future must be well planned, Face the future with anticipation. Plan the future that you can get excited about

Let the future capture your imagination.

Well defined goals pull you in their direction.

We can just make a living, and get trapped in existence

Design a life.

A reason to Accomplish Great Things

You need enough reasons to accomplish great things. Enough intelligence. Be inspired to look for the answers.

When you know what you want, and you want it bad enough, you will see the opportunities.

What drives us is necessity - work on your reasons first.

Why do well? What are the reasons?

What has you inspired?

What has you turned off?

The Simplicity of Goal Setting

Decide what you want, write it down

Simple things, foolish things

Jim's Budget Finance story - payoff with a little drama

Keep your list in your journal - what was important then.

My old list - my new list. Shows your growth. The change in philosophy

Get together with your family, business, etc make the list

Another Scenario on Goal Setting

Reasons make the difference

Set a goal for financial security - what are the reasons

Two parts of Goal Setting

Don't set the goals too low

Go where the demands and expectations are high. Expect excellence of each other. Contribute to excellence. Live at the summit. Insist that you not remain the same.

Don't compromise, don't sell out

Count the costs

The story of Judas Iscariot - Judas got the money. Greatest source of unhappiness is self unhappiness. Doing a little less than you can. Not feeling good about yourself

Beware - don't sell out, mark well what you become

Behold - the possibilities, the uniqueness, the majesty

Designing the Next Ten Years

What do you Really Want to Do

What do I want within the next 1 to 10 years.

Take 12 to 15 minutes

What do I want to DO

What do you want to SEE

What do you want to BE

What do you want to HAVE

Where do I want to GO

What do I want to SHARE

From disk 4 Track 10

Let the thoughts pour, write fast, in abbreviations, 50 things you want

Long range goals

Write a number beside the goals 1, 3, 5, 10 years to accomplish

Then review the distribution of the goals, need more 1 or 5 year goals. Have goals that you can continue working on after you achieve your early goals.

Wrap up one goal then start or continue working on the next.

What to Include

Three important areas

  1. Economic Goals, income profit,
  2. Material items you want, home, transport, things
  3. Goals for personal development

Your Short Range Goals

Review the goals and select the four most important 1, 3, 5 and 10 year goals

Describe each of these 16 goals in detail

Describe why this goal is important to you. The "Why" is a powerful motivator

Reflect, refine and revise

These should be goals that inspire you.

Transfer the information to your journal or bring along notebook

Review the goals on a weekly basis. - a continual process

Review progress on the goals - the important goals

"Without Dreams and Vision, We Perish"

Your goals effect you all day long.

The goals must inspire you, be fun, big challenging, rewarding

What kind of person will I have to become to get all I want?

Write a few sentences on this.

What must I become, to get what I want.

Key Points

Ability will grow to match your strong dreams. The more you work on it, the more the ideas will come.

You can't change the past, you can change the future

Startling changes in a fairly short time

You will be able to do things you never thought you could do.

The goal setting process - when you know what you want, the answers will come

Ask

Ask and you will receive.

Key points

  1. Asking starts the receiving process. Mental machinery starts in motion.
  2. Receiving is not the problem - it is automatic. The problem is failure to ask.
  3. Receiving is like the ocean - there is plenty. There is an abundance of success. Go to the ocean with a bucket not a tea spoon.

Ask with intelligence. Don’t mumble. Be specific. Describe, define what you want. The better you define the stronger they are.

Give your goals purpose. What for… What you want it for is more important.

Have faith, have trust. Get excited. Get enthusiasm. Believe. Be curious. That is how you learn.
