About Us

Francisco Cardenas Fernandez is a talented and dedicated Peruvian luthier, who has been producing fine quality guitars for roughly thirty years. He originally learnt from his father, who in turn had a lifetime of experience in the trade. His brother, too, has been working with him for much of that time, and recently they have been joined by their cousin.

As a family business, their skills draw from many generations, which enables them to produce guitars of the highest quality!

Francisco is a traditional maker and builds guitars, mandolins and charangos in the traditional way, as opposed to the "cost-cutting" method by which most modern production-line guitars are produced. He has an excellent reputation amongst professionals, and produces guitars which easily rank with the top echelon of guitars of the world.

My name is Olivier Koning, and I met Francisco in 1988 and bought an amazing semi concerto guitar from him, which is still my best instrument.
