(Taken from the
Constitution: 3 Objects)
Traditionally the Club has focused on the conformation
aspect of the breed which covered showing and to a smaller part obedience.
In the early years, the Club used to boast of memberships into the hundreds but with changing
conditions over the years it has seen it's membership decline.
In 1995 the Club ran the 2nd Samoyed National,
with an entry of 200 Samoyeds. Below is the Committee and Judges who made
this a rememberable event.

Back: The late Len Binding, Jan Tindall, Bob Tindall, Jim Reid
Margaret Courtney-Reid and Pam Fletcher
Middle: The late Doll Binding, Jeffrey Binding
and the Judge, Margaret Ross(Scotland)
Front: Irene Vargerson and Property Judge, Tina Dodds(Scotland)
In 2007, the Club will again host another Samoyed National,
this one the 7th. The judge has been contracted but their name and country
of origin will not be released until the new year.
In recent years, with the introduction of Scooter Racing,
Weight-pull and Herding, we have seen more interest coming from the people
who have just bought a Samoyed as pets. Not wanting to show they are looking
at other ways to inter-react with their dogs and to meet other Samoyed
owners. |
