Standing Up For Causes

I had had a few requests for shoes, but I thought ‘done that’. When a commission came from a person who had a magnificent textile collection, I had to think again. By choosing to make a boot, I had an area large enough to make a statement. There were people saving trees, saving rivers, saving fish, and I never had time to help them. So they are here in this work, this is my thank-you to them .
Also there are women who want careers and women who want to make a career out of raising their children They got in to too.
I even punned "save souls" on the sole. The woman for whom I made it was delighted. She was on a saving mission of her own at the time.
