My Aquarium

The wave maker utilizes the 555 timer chip that is constructed using an appropriate  internal step down transformer. Dip switches provide for infinite timing situations.

Mains power work should only be performed by a    qualified electrician.
A simpler unit I have made uses a remote plug in power adaptor to provide power for the primary side of the electrics, it also has adjustable times but are fixed on assembly. On both units the outputs use a main capacitor to protect the relays

Above is my Heater power supply controller.

The thermostat is used to control the mains power to the power board that the heaters are plugged into, the probe at the end of the capillary although stainless, must be inserted into a sealed plastic tube before inserting into the sump of the trickle unit or where ever is appropriate. Failure to do this will result in probe damage as I have found out after about three months. Two LED's show power in and out, it's a simple unit to construct with the thermostat obtainable from appliance parts retailer.
Refer to front page on how this unit works.

The under tank area, note the lack of the front support within the stand to obtain full access. The trickle unit was easily constructed once the necessary calculations were made in relation to available room and required capacity, note the  angled glass within the trickle unit which provides for easy siphoning of unwanted detritus.
