Action Plan

McIvor Landcare plans to work at the following level for each of the coming five years (2003 - 2007) of this Action Plan:

1.                To support the work of individuals in erosion control/bed and bank stabilisation/improving stream health through works resourced directly to landholders through the North Central CMA.

2.                To have the area recognised as a priority salinity area in order to support further recharge planting of tree and the establishment of perennial pasture and salt tolerant perennial pasture in the area.

3.                To protect threatened vegetation systems in the area and to increase their viability through projects with new vegetation to link existing remnants.

4.                To undertake a number of specific works on a range of weeds in target areas every year, as well as follow up works from the previous year, with DNRE technical support and funding from the North Central CMA.

5.                To undertake annual programs for the control of all feral animals, and

6.                To meet and conduct events bi-monthly as a group in order to inform and assist landholders in the McIvor area with Landcare linked activity.
