Following is a of the draw for the Junior Carnival (previously faxed or e-mailed to all who gave details).

If you have not done so, could you please return a teamsheet for each team you have entered, ASAP. Team mangers are reminded to check the scoresheets for the correct players’ name prior to each game.

All teams will play a guaranteed 3 minor round games which all be played on day #1 at either Barossa Valley Stadia or Starplex. All finals will be 1 v 4 and 2 v 3. The finals are detailed on each grade’s draw.

With the use of Starplex we have been able to increase game time. Games will be 4 x 10 minute quarters with no clock stoppage during game time, 1 time out per quarter, no substitutions in the last minute of any quarter, no time outs in the last 2 minutes on any quarter.

Please make coaches and team manager aware of these changes. Also ensure that teams are ready to go at game start times as the clock will be started at game start time regardless of whether teams and / or referees are ready.

The draw has been completed taking into account the following:

1.      Team travelling each day

2.      Matching accommodation venue and last game venue

3.      Playing grades at 1 venue if possible

4.      Requests for specific times

5.      Where possible taking into consideration, distance to travel

6.      Playing games with a reasonable break between them.

7.      Grading teams according to the information provided.

Wherever possible we have split the age groupings into two divisions based upon information received, and in consultation with teams concerned. The U16 Boys, U18 Boys and U18 Girls were combined into one division due to either late team withdrawals or insufficient nominations to form separate divisions. It was not possible to split the U12 Boys into 3 divisions.

Canteen facilities will be provided, at both Starplex and Barossa Recreation & Fitness Centre – Centrals I believe will also have a bar-b-que at Starplex at the Recreation Centre. The Lions (the service club not Centrals) will have their catering caravan at the High School each day.

Also for those who don’t want to see the Crows lose again there will be ABA games at Starplex (West Adelaide Bearcats v Central District Lions) from 6:30 pm on Saturday.

I am looking forward to seeing you again and meeting up with the newcomers for this year’s carnival.
