Lastest news from BUFC:

16/9/2000 - Barnstoneworth bow out of the end-of-season cup, with a loss to Christian Utd, amid the worst display of refereeing post-war.  Just what did Greg McGuire yell at the ref to get his red card? ... I believe it started with F, and ended with OFF !! Oh well, a carton of red for the boys !!
19/8/2000 - Almost an anti-climax, with a 4-2 win over Derwent Utd. Secured the Championship by 3 points and a healthy goal difference. Went past 100 goals for the season, and Greg McGuire and Blake Donaldson each scored, but remain tied for leading scorer on 17 each.
12/8/2000 - WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS !!!  With a 7-0 win over Uni Bohemians, and DOSA held to a draw, we can't be beaten for the league ! A solid win, without really turning it on.
5/8/2000 - Snuck in 11-1 over Hobart Wanderers, with McGuire a lazy 4 goals, and Tim Morris giving the imaginary air ball an absolute pounding. The good news today, rumour has it League leaders DOSA lost, so BUFC is BACK ON TOP !!    Woo Hoo !!
29/7/2000 - A 6-1 victory over Uni Grads, with Lager Breen netting a hat-trick. Didn't see the game, so can't report anymore.
22/7/2000 - A hard fought 2-1 win over Christian United. Tim Peters a superb display in goals, including a penalty save, and a great volley for the winner from Lee Salter were highlights.
15/7/2000 - Bummer. Lost 2-1 to DOSA, and probably lost the league title with it. Things didn't get going for us, our previous lowest goal tally for a game was 3, so we were off the mark there.
8/7/2000 - A hard-fought 3-2 win over New Norfolk, with Greg McGuire scoring 2 crucial headed goals. Could've won by more, but could've lost it also. We are now clear on top of the table.
2/7/2000 - A rowdy "Hanky Panky Bus Tours" bus trip to to play Huon Valley proved successful, with a 5-1 victory. Highlights include a strange penalty and a  clinical finish from George to slot one home in our own net....oh, and I'm a Dad.
24/6/2000 - A solid 7-0 victory over University Dynamo, with some good soccer played. Don "how much time can you have in front of goal and still miss" Ryan disappeared pretty quickly after the game, choosing not to join in the post-match discussions over a beer.
17/6/2000 - A 4-0 victory over Derwent Utd, 3 goals in the first half against the wind, and 1 lucky goal with the wind. Paul "Slugger" Breen providing some entertainment.
3/6/2000 - A resounding 13-0 thumping of Uni Bohemians, with Blake scaoring 4 goals. Tim Peters scoring for the second week in a row...can the game ever be the same again.
27/5/2000 - 9-0 victory over a very undermanned Hobart Wanderers. Lee Gillam helping himself to his first goals for the club, a casual 4. About time he made up for the own goal. Missed more than we scored. Tim Peters scoring also....bad for soccer.
20/5/2000 - After going behind early (again), Barnstoneworth rally strongly to record an 8-1 win over Uni Grads. " 8-1....8 Bloody 1 !! "
13/5/2000 - Wasn't there, no idea what went on. But Barnstoneworth won 6-3 over Christian United, so it couldn't have been too bad.
7/5/2000 - Not much went our way at DOSA. Losers at 4-3. Fine goal from Colin from a free kick. Fitness fanatic Craig Seymour ran out a strong 5 minutes before turning red. Naughty Devereux picks up a yellow. Looking forward to the return of the Great Corn next week.
30/4/2000 - Back to concentrate on the League, and a fine 5-1 win away to New Norfolk. Could yet prove an important win later in the season. A fine finish from new signing Lee Gillam to score his first goal for the club (OG).
24/4/2000 - "The Vase" - Round 2 of the cup, and Barnstoneworth play like crap, on a hard and bumpy surface. A 2-1 loss to the Kingston Cannons. Ah well, it was only a vase. Now if it had been a cup .....
16/4/2000 - "The Vase" - Round 1 of the cup, and we fight back to down last year's Premiers Hobart Wanderers 2-1. A great win from the lads.
15/4/2000 - 2 from 2, as after a slow start and going 1-0 down, we finally triumphed 5-1 over Huon Valley, with Blakey netting a hat-trick, and Fitzy breaking his nose to look like the former McGuire nose.
9/4/2000 - First game, first win, 3-2 over Uni Dynamo.  Our pre-season fitness proved to hold us in good stead, as we ran out the first 10 minutes strongly. The last 80 minutes were a bit of a struggle however.
